Mike Garcia

Scheduling

Mike Garcia resides in Western Frederick County, and originates from Southern California, and is a USAF veteran.  His association with Faith in Action began in 2006 when his wife,  Kathy, was in need of transportation to physical therapy appointments and Mike had expended all of his accrued vacation hours at his job, which at the time was as an Environmental Specialist at a local engineering company, ECS Mid-Atlantic.  Faith in Action stepped in, providing transportation to Kathy's remaining appointments, after which Mike was moved to become a volunteer driver, transporting during his lunch breaks.

After layoffs occurred at ECS, Mike volunteered with FIA as a transport coordinator, working at the former Cork Street office a couple of days a week.  He soon discovered that this work could be accomplished through remote desktop connection, and has been working from home ever since, later being hired as a contractor to FIA.
